Your lower back is stiff? Good!

It's supposed to be.

Low back pain is one of the most common conditions I help clients grapple with.

The first thing they need to understand is that we're not going to mobilize or "loosen up" the lower back.

The lower back is built for STABILITY, not mobility.

The thoracic or middle spine, however, IS built for mobility and that's usually where the problem lies.

If we can loosen up their stiff, compressed thoracic spines, this takes tremendous pressure off the lumbar spine, which helps resolves their low back pain.

One of the easiest ways to start this is just by practicing the basic movements of the spine:

Movements of the Spine

You're not BROKEN.  You just need to MOVE BETTER.
